Medallion with bust of Artemis, and chain Greek or Thracian Hellenistic Period 2nd or early 1st century B.C. The medallion of thin gold has no backing; it depicts a bust of Artemis in relief, her head turned slightly to the right. She wears her quiver over her right shoulder and her peplos is pinned at the shoulders. Pairs of loops attached to the border above and below suggest a network of chains held the medallion in place. The heavy loop-in-loop chain terminates in rings. PROVENANCE
