Terracotta figure of the goddess Artemis of Ephesus. Roman, made in Asia Minor, 1st century CE Said to be from Ephesus, this statue is unique because it has a bull head strategically placed on her groin area. While I am a long proponent that the bulbs on her body are bee hives, research for my upcoming y book on Artemis of Ephesus shows a long and complicated ritual tradition between bulls and bees. Perhaps this is a representation of this tradition? Still much to be discovered about this powerful Goddess and her worship at Ephesus
