A ROMAN MARBLE DIANA CIRCA 2ND CENTURY A.D. The goddess of the hunt wearing a short-sleeved tunic with buttoned sleeves and overfold, a baldric over her right shoulder, and an animal skin wrapped around her waist and secured with a belt that bisects the animal's head, its paw hanging down her left thigh, a short mantle over her left shoulder and arm, her high open-toe boots decorated with a feline head at the top, flaps at the sides, originally standing with her weight on her left leg, a tree stump support behind her right leg; with later additions including the head and neck, both arms, the quiver, the left leg from the knee, the right leg from above the ankle, the dog and plinth 63 in. (160 cm.) high
