Terracotta antefix with Potnia Theron from the sanctuary of Fornasotti today in the National Archaeological Museum of Altino (photo drm-veneto) Also on display in the museum is a beautiful terracotta antefix with a female figure surrounded by two rampant animals representing Potnia Theròn or Lady of the Animals, a divinity connected to nature and animals, over which she exercised power. This example finds comparisons with other representations present in temple buildings in northern Italy at the beginning of the 1st century. BC, the period to which this antefix is also dated.
